The green was constructed by the Parish Council and was officially opened in July 1993. A committee had been formed the previous year to organise the constitution, raise funds, recruit members and generally lay the foundations of the Haydon Wick Bowls Club.

It was immediately obvious that there was a desperate need for a clubhouse and despite many setbacks and the need to raise a great deal of money, the members set to work on an intensive fund raising campaign. This was so successful that building work started in May 1998. During the following Autumn and Winter a dedicated group of members carried out a great deal of D.I.Y. work to ensure that the clubhouse was ready for the start of the 1999 season.

We are a relatively young club but our members are a very friendly group who work hard to ensure that all aspects of our club run smoothly.
